Citizenship by descent
To be eligible for citizenship by descent you must have been born outside of Australia and be the natural child of an Australian citizen.

Application for a certificate of Evidence of Australian citizenship
An Australian citizen can apply for a certificate of Australian citizenship if they want documentary evidence of their citizenship. Please consult: www.citizenship.gov.au to determine your citizenship status.

Resumption of Australian citizenship
If you previously lost your Australian citizenship you may be eligible to resume citizenship. Requirements for resumption of citizenship are listed on form 132.

Adopted children overseas
Children adopted outside of Australia by an Australian citizen may apply for grant of citizenship if they are already in possession of a valid permanent residency visa.
