Customs and quarantine
The Australian Customs Service is responsible for facilitating trade and the movement of people across the Australian border while protecting the community and maintaining compliance with Australian law; efficiently collecting customs revenue; and administering specific industry schemes and trade measures.
Before you leave for Australia, it is advisable that you obtain information about possible prohibitions and restrictions on imported goods.

Australia’s remoteness created an environment unlike any other on Earth. Australian Quarantine and Inspection Service helps protect it. Food, plant material and animal products from overseas could introduce some of the world’s most serious pests and diseases into Australia, devastating our valuable agriculture and tourism industries and unique environment.
